Who I am

What I collect and where it comes from

When you use the enquiry form you give me your name, organisation, telephone number (optional), email address and the contents of your message. I do not ask for sensitive information through the form. The site also collects limited technical and usage information through cookies, which are described in the Cookie Policy.

Why I use it and my lawful basis

I use your details to reply to your enquiry and, if you ask me to, to discuss working together. My lawful basis is my legitimate interest in responding to business enquiries, or taking steps at your request before entering into a contract. I do not carry out direct marketing, I do not make decisions about you based solely on automated processing, and I will never sell your information. Analytics cookies are used only with your consent.

Who receives it

I use service providers to run the site and handle enquiries: Squarespace (website hosting and the enquiry form), Microsoft (email) and Google (website analytics if you accept analytics cookies, and spam protection on the enquiry form). These providers process information on my behalf or under their own data protection terms. I may also disclose information where the law requires it.

How long I keep it

Enquiries that do not lead to work are kept for 12 months and then deleted. If we work together, your details are kept as part of my client records for as long as the contract and legal requirements need.

Transfers outside the UK

Some providers may process information outside the UK. Where this happens I check that a valid transfer mechanism is in place, such as UK adequacy regulations, an International Data Transfer Agreement or the UK Addendum.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of the personal data I hold about you, and for it to be corrected or erased. You can also ask me to restrict or object to its use, and to receive it in a portable format, where the law applies. Email me and I will respond within the statutory timescale.

Complaints

Please contact me first if you are unhappy with how I have handled your data. I will acknowledge your complaint within 30 days, investigate it and tell you the outcome. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk, 0303 123 1113).
